New location strengthens European network and enables direct CO₂ reduction for heavy road transport.
Rolande has started construction of a new Bio-LNG filling station in Großmehring, near the German A9, a key corridor for north-south transport in Europe. The strategically located location underlines the ambition to make sustainable transport accessible and reliable. The station is scheduled to open in Q3 2025.
A logical step in the expansion of the Bio-LNG network
With the new station, Rolande is further expanding its European network. Hauliers using Bio-LNG will soon be able to refuel even more easily along one of Germany’s busiest logistics routes. The station is accessible 24/7 and designed for a fast, safe and efficient refuelling experience.
‘With this station, we are taking an important step in our mission to make sustainable heavy transport possible,’ said CEO Jolon van der Schuit. ‘We are building a network that already allows transporters and shippers to realise direct CO₂ reductions, without concessions on range or reliability.’

Bio-LNG: immediately deployable, up to 200% CO₂ reduction
Bio-LNG is a sustainable fuel made from organic waste and manure. It can reduce CO₂ by up to 200% compared to diesel, and that without depending on subsidies or future technologies. Thanks to the existing infrastructure, it is already possible today to switch to cleaner transport.
Transparency and certainty for customers
At Rolande, sustainability is not just about the fuel, but also about measurable impact. Customers receive CO₂ certificates and validated data that meet CSRD requirements. This allows them to demonstrate their sustainability in reports and tenders.
